With his word as his bond, many growers in the Barossa sold fruit to Peter Lehmann on a handshake agreement; many of which are still honoured today. These longstanding relationships give us unrivalled access to some of the finest quality grapes across the length and breadth of the region to craft our wines. Following a period of uncertainty, Peter Lehmann Wines was born to preserve a winemaking community, and save it from detriment during the great fruit surplus of the late 1970s. The Bond is created to honour Peter and his promise.
WINE MAKERS NOTES
Bright purple hues with a core of garnet red. Lifted ripe purple cherries, savoury herbs and spices dominate the nose. The palate is smooth and silky with raspberry, violet flower and a hint of dried sage.
